Mid-March Post + Japan

Dear Friends,

Japan is never out of our minds, as we think of those still desperately in need of help. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and the number of people missing.

We feel especially close to Japan and the Japanese people, because our book, a college sociology text and business book, was based on an originally Japanese model of human resource development and team building. The research we did for the book, Quality Circles: Changing Images of People at Work (Addison-Wesley 1983), allowed us to gain a better understanding of their unique culture and perspective on a number of significant issues. Bill has fond memories of lecturing at the Science University of Tokyo and the extraordinary hospitality and friendliness of the people he met while in Japan.

We are hoping and praying for the best for everyone involved in this nightmarish experience.

Thank you for your continuing interest in our project.
