                                                                 Harry Rosenberg

As mentioned in an earlier post, my discussions with Pras Michel (The Fugees) about the Haiti Holocaust Project triggered a great level of excitement on the part of Pras. He was convinced that a survivor should be in his new documentary, SWEET MICKEY FOR PREZIDAN.

So for the last 6-8 weeks, I have been scrambling to put this interview together with our own Harry Rosenberg. As the weeks went by, one thing became certain, the documentary would never be deemed complete until Harry’s interview was added.

Pras and Lyssa

I am pleased to share that Harry was finally interviewed last Friday! And although it was scheduled as a one hour interview, the cameras left Harry’s apartment almost four hours later. It turns out, Harry was a great focal point and his vivid memories during his time in Haiti held the interest of the interviewer. Harry touched on his parent’s invitation to attend the Haitian President’s New Year’s Party at the Presidential Palace and his tremendous gratitude for the country for helping him and his family escape persecution in Germany.

I look forward to seeing Harry in the film as it tours the International film festival circuit. I would also like to thank Harry for his patience and sharing his experience with us.

You can find Harry and the documentary next month at the CRiterio Ambiental Film Fest (CRAFF) in Costa Rica (www.criteriofilmfest.org)

Stay tuned for additional dates and locations….
