Ruth Hamburger Hirsch Biographical Information

We are very pleased to have a new Haiti child survivor come on board our project. Her name is Ruth Hamburger Hirsch. Ruth arrived in Port-au-Prince in 1939 from Germany and remained until 1946. She lived on Rue Trois in Port-au-Prince with her mother and father, grandmother and uncle. She was two years old when they arrived in Haiti and left when she was nine. She went to the American School. The family fled from Berlin to Port-au-Prince and came to the U.S. via Miami to N.Y. and then to Vineland, NJ.
